Resources that support our members and congregation

Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, or ELCA, is the national Lutheran association to which we belong. ELCA provides resources to Ascension and we in turn support the larger organization. The ELCA Web site provides a wealth of spiritual and tangible resources for individuals and churches.

The Oklahoma-Arkansas Synod of ELCA has 59 member congregations, including Ascension, with Synod headquarters located in Tulsa. Bishop Floyd Schoenhals, a former pastor at a neighboring church, visits at least once each year.

Center for Counseling and Education provides guidance in spiritual and emotional growth and healing in the Tulsa area. Pastoral counselors work with individuals and groups around marriage, family, and spiritual issues.

The Ascension Church Council, which meets the second Monday of every month, includes the following officers:
