We are a community of faith that gathers weekly to worship our Lord through Word and Sacrament, celebrating Christ's victory over sin and death as the hallmark of our faith.We are the people of God, growing in faithfulness to God's Word and will. Pastor Norman Dake About Pastor NormPastor Norm has served Ascension since Easter 2006, following 28 years of hospital and jail chaplaincy in St. Louis, Missouri. A 1976 graduate of Christ Seminary (Seminex) in St. Louis, Pastor Norm also has a graduate degree in Pastoral Care and Social Change from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is the author of numerous “Chats with the Chaplain,” published in Healing Words, a devotional guide for those who are hospitalized. He is also the Book of Faith Advocate for the Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod of the ELCA. He is the parent of two adult children, both of whom are graduates of Oral Roberts University here in Tulsa, and has one precious granddaughter. Pastor Norm loves to travel, and is an avid photographer. It is not uncommon to encounter him on his bicycle along the bike trails of Tulsa.
