Responding to God's love,
we come together
To Welcome Others
You are invited to join us for Sunday worship at 8:30 or 11:00
AM. A nursery is available for the 11 AM service. We also
invite you to refreshments between services and Sunday School for
all ages, beginning at 9:45 AM.
We also invite you to Fabulous Friday Fun, Family Fun, Food, and Fellowship (6 F)--usually the second Friday
of the month from 6
to 9 PM--to share a meal
and just have fun! Past 6-F events have featured
Movie Night, White Elephant Bingo, Bunko, Games Night,
Caroling/Ornament-making, and a Dessert Auction to benefit needy
families.
To Worship
and Sing God's Praises
Sunday worship is the centerpiece of our life together. Every
Sunday we celebrate Holy Communion, which is open to all baptized
Christians who believe our Lord's presence in the sacrament offers us
forgiveness, life, and salvation.
Our worship features a Praise Band with contemporary music at 8:30 and a
small choir with traditional Lutheran liturgy and organ music at 11 AM.
We welcome all to worship with us. If you have musical
talent, consider joining our Praise Band for the early service or the small choir
for the traditional service.
Wednesday evenings in
Advent and Lent, we gather at 6:30 PM for a light meal and service.
Here we sing traditional and contemporary songs, offer prayers in
keeping with the season, and hear a short homily from Pastor Norm.
To Grow in Our Faith
Members come together in small groups for "5 x 5,"
a series that fosters Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. Each
group has five or more members and meets at least twice monthly over a
period of five months. Then, 5 x 5 forms new groups, so
that members may broaden their friendships and also invite others to
join.
Sunday School offers instruction in faith for children of all ages, confirmation
education beginning in 7th grade and completed in 8th grade, and an
adult class taught by Pastor Norm.
Women of Ascension, our local chapter of WELCA, the women's
organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, meets
monthly for Bible study and fellowship. This group affirms,
supports, and challenges women in their daily ministries at home and
around the world.
